"I am a proud member of Lady Cove Women's Choir. L.C. or 'Elsie' as we like to call her, is a collection of amazing choristers and is fulfilling on so many levels. She is a vehicle through which we express ourselves - mothers, daughters, sisters, partners, wives, aunts, cousins, nieces and friends.”
How Do You Find Peace?
In the upcoming weeks prior to their Pax (Peace) concert, members of Lady Cove and Newman Sound will be sharing with you what brings us peace during our daily, busy lives. Whether it be a cup of tea after a long day or an all time favourite song, we would absolutely love for you to share your peaceful moments with us too!
The choirs will be giving away a set of tickets each Friday between now and the concert on March 10 drawn from those who share their ideas.
The list so far :)
- Quiet Snow
- The Big Land
- From a friend of the choir - I find peace in walking my dogs. It forces me to look at things differently; even if it's a bit of yellow snow it seems to have captured a whole history of their dog-friends who have travelled that route. Although I might not find the same intrique in the messages that the snow contains, walking the dogs helps me keep my eyes peeled for new things (and sometimes I do sing when I am walking my dogs ... just dog songs .... just for us).
- Outdoors - Living in incredible Newfoundland and Labrador, I am filled with peace just knowing I am surrounded by beauty in every season. There is nothing I enjoy more than getting outdoors and breathing in the fresh air - snowshoeing in the winter, hiking in the summer.
- From a friend of the choir - I find peace in prayer and music. One song in particular that always brings me peace is Bob Chilcott’s CAN YOU HEAR ME.
- For all the students
- When I think about future peace....I think about amazing kids
- Peaceful retreat
